Safe Container: Psychological Safety
Simulation-based training only works if learners feel safe to learn. That includes the establishment and maintenance of an inviting and engaging learning atmosphere. Learners are treated with respect and are invited to try out new actions and openly discuss their approaches.
Instructors contribute to this «safe container» by
• openly communicating objectives and expectations,
• highlighting the special characteristics of the simulated learning environment and inviting learners to engage with this environment
• explaining logistical details and
• heeding participant`s needs.
